Walkthrough - Tomb Raider: The Golden Mask
ALASKA - The Kingdom
Level 4.. Captured in a cage overlooking the tropical valley..
Starting Cage.
You're
captured in a cage on the top of a hill with a couple of Ape-like goons
running around. Look around and you'll see a switch. When pulled all of
the 3 Ape-like goons will enter, so get ready for close combat.. After all
are dead go outside and pickup Uzi-clips,Flares
and a small medipack at the top.. Go down the hill shoot
a Ape-like goon and find shotgun-ammo(middle cave). Look
out for that nasty trap in the middle cave... Find
a large medipack(left cave) that will trigger yet another
ape-like goon. Make your way back to the cage and start pulling that metal
box towards the golden panel on the floor.. Pickup the Flares
and push the box on the panel. A trapdoor in the center of the cage will
open and you can go down on a climbing ladder. Now you'll enter a cage
underground... From here go right do a couple of jumps and dive into the
water.. Swim around and exit the
water by the low ledge (panel with face). Climb up and find Uzi-clips,
M16-ammo and a small medipack. You can
exit this cave on the right side.. you'll end up where you find the
climbing ladder.. The tricky part... Again go right and face the
molten lava lake.. you can do a running jump and cross it towards the
other side.. turn around and face the small ledge where you can
pickup shotgun-ammo. Do it with a running jump.
When back, face the slope.. put yourself next to the wall and do a simple
jump forward. On landing on the ramp do another jump and land on the
platform in the corner... Run up and find shotgun-ammo on
your left.. from here you can secret 1... Look out for another Ape-like
goon... follow the slope down and go inside the small pit...
Cages with switches..
This part is very tricky...
Here we go.. Flip the switch in cage 1.. then 2 , 3 , 4 and 5 , then 1 , 6
and last 5. Pickup your shotgun-ammo,Automaticpistol-Clips
and small medipack now exit this maze and head left..
slide down, do a jump and grab the climbing ladder.. head down drop
yourself into the left corner (to avoid the spikes) and pickup the Uzi-clips.
Climb up and drop yourself next to the ladder in the field of spikes...
Walk through the field and do a simple jump forward to a platform. This
will lead into a room (lite a
flare) where you can find Automaticpistol-Clips and flares.
Follow the stairs and you'll find Secret# 1
Gold Coins. Picking up this you'll trigger a trapdoor next
to you that will brings you back into the room with all the switches and
cages... drop down and kill the Ape-like Goon... Find the exit again and
this time go right... Run up the slope. Now you will be entering a place
with a view of a Jungle...
Jungle.
Pickup the large
medipack next to the skeleton will trigger 2 ape-like goons ...
go down and do a diagonal jump between the trees..walk futher until you
reach the wooden brigde.. go stand on the HIGH SIDE and do a running jump
towards the next platform. Grab the ledge and pull yourself up.
Pickup the Automaticpistol-Clips and do a running jump towards
the wall with the ledge in front of you. Shimmy to the left until you can
climb up. Jump on to the wooden brigde. Next do a simple jump on a
platform and pickup Secret# 2 The Gold Bars.
Silde down in the corner and jump towards the next platform where you find
M16-ammo. Walk up to the higer part of the platform and do a running jump towards the place you
first entered this Jungle. Cross the wooden bridge and kill the goon on
the other side... Do a running jump and grab towards this place where you
can find a small medipack and Grenades.
Do a running jump back and go further into a room with 3 switches... First
go right and find Grenades, then go to the left side and
find Automaticpistol-Clips. It's time now to pull the
switch next to the door. This triggers a trapdoor where a goon with uzi
falls down and a Ape-like goon in the backroom. Next you pull left switch
at the golden wall that releases 3 Warior-goons... watch
the scene now.. Then pull the right switch and enter the room...
Pickup the Large medipack. This will trigger a door that
releases the ape-like goon .. look out for the goon on top of the
middle structure. He will be a sniper like goon... Head
back out and go right ... you'll see a golden door open (where the
ape-like goon came from.). Here you'll find Uzi-clips.
The only way is down to the jungle so let's go... Slide down and do a
standing jump forward.. Take a running jump and pickup the Flares.
Jump back and do a standing jump + grab to enter the wooden bridge on your
right. Get your Grenadegun ready and jump + grab the climbing
ladder.. go up and kill the 2 ape-like goons .. (Grenadegun is better...
other weapons take longer to kill them) at this place you'll find a small
medipack, Automaticpistol-Clips
and M16-ammo. From here take the climbing ladder
down and pickup the small medipack. Go up and jump over
the gap. Light a flare and jump towards the golden face. You'll start
sliding down backwards. As soon as you reach the end of the first gold
slide do a simple jump forward so you slide down in the opposite
direction, you'll end up down at the bottom of the jungle on a panel with
a golden face. Shotgun-ammo will be here to find. Take a
standing diagonal jump to your right into a new area between to trees..
Big Hall with waterfalls...
From this point it gets tricky... Look at the first trap door.. do a
running jump towards it and go inside... (note: it looks like you can die
here but you won't ... next trapdoors will !!) Go up the climbing ladder
and do a backwards jump at the top to land on the ledge behind you.
Go up the wall and see a Valley of molten lava and waterfalls. Slide down the
first waterfall.. Take a running jump across it. Now jump to
platform 1 than to the second.. do this with standing jumps.. Do a
running jump across the second waterfall to platform 3. Jump to the top
and do a standing jump towards platform 4. Do a running jump towards the
sliding ramp and end up in front of waterfall 3.. Do a running jump
towards the waterfall. The golden
panels explode and you'll end up behind it. The trick here is to look at
the ceiling. Safe passage can be seen as solid gold. Pickup the flares
and the Small medipack. A leopard will come for you..
Turn around and start jumping towards the safe panels in the corner(
2 standing jumps and 1 running jump.).. here you'll find Secret#
3 The golden Scull. Picking up the secret will open a
golden door... Slide down the
ramp and do a running jump across the second waterfall. Climb up the wall
and go to the opening where you can slide down into the jungle again..
you'll end up at a familiar spot.. (note. you'll lose some health now..)
Again take a standing diagonal jump and now avoid that trapdoor and go
futher... Kill the ape-like goon and go inside the dense jungle..
light a flare to look around.. Kill the 2 other ape-like goons and here
you'll find small medipack,
shotgun-ammo and uzi-clips. Look out for
those nasty spike pits. Exit the jungle and follow the golden road up and
climb the ladder up..
The Cave and the Hill....
Now comes the last best part of the level.. Follow the path until you come to an cave
area... Kill the 3 leopards and pickup the M16-ammo 2x
and Large medipack. Pickup will result in a trapdoor
opening.. Go towards it.. do a running jump and grab the Climbing ladder
(note: don't slide down.) Pickup the Shotgun-ammo. If you
go futher here you'll see it's the place where you started this level...
Now return back to the ladder. Stand backwards to the ladder and push CRTL.
Next push backwards.. You'll be hanging on the top of the ladder. If you
do a backwards jump now you'll end up where you first where.. Go inside
the large cave again but now climb up one of the Climbing ladders.. On the
right you'll find two large doors. Go towards them and they will open...
run inside and climb down the climbing ladder. Notice the deep pit and the
switch across the pit... In this pit you'll find your
last Large Medipack...
Go back up and exit until you find the Golden Mask receptacle... Save your
game and get full health.. Place the Golden Mask of Tornarsuk in the
receptacle and all hell will break lose behind you... A Golden Bird
Monster will come down the path behind you... so turn around a get as fast
as you can up that path.. (Note: Jumping is the fastets way...)The
Golden Bird Monster will try to kill you.... At the top
pull the switch and start going back down the path.. turn right trough the
open doors and run over a new golden brigde... quickly pull the switch and
now you can kill the Golden Bird Monster. The level ends...
