Walkthrough - Tomb Raider: The Dagger of Xian
CHINA - The great wall
Lara jumps out of a helicopter and descends a rope
to the ground near the Great Wall of China.
The level itself begins in a cave at the base of the
wall. You'll need to climb up the rocks to the tower.
Cross the cavern and wad into the water, and climb
onto the rocks. Look around and a tiger will emerge below you. You don’t
have to kill it. Follow the ledge and do a standing jump to the next
block. Jump forward to the next ledge and follow it until you can’t go
forward. Climb up and turn around. Now do a running jump and land on the
other side. Look to your right and take a jump towards the small ledge,
here you’ll find SECRET# 1; the
Stone Dragon. (look down and see a second tiger).
Turn around and return across the small gap and start
climbing back up until you reach the top. Take a running jump towards the
other side and pull yourself up into the Guardhouse. In the right corner
there is a trap door. Stand on it and you’ll drop down into the room
below. Swim out of the pool and go to the top of the stairs. Take a
running jump and grab the ledge near the switch. Pull the switch and the
door will open. Go outside and kill the 3 crows who’ll approach you from
the other building. Halfway you’ll find a slope. Slide down into the
water and find the GUARDHOUSE KEY in the small underwater cave. Climb out
the water and kill the tiger (Note: Wait until the tiger is away from you,
climb out and use the shotgun – 2 shots).
Face the wall and climb up on the rocks to the right
of the pool. Use the GUARDHOUSE KEY to unlock the door. Jump backwards and
kill the 3 spiders that come running out of the building towards you.
Enter the second guardhouse and climb the ladder, kill another spider and
pickup the RUSTY KEY, that unlocks the door below. Enter the next room and
another 3 spiders will come down from the ceiling and 1 spider behind you.
Many spiders you can kill. Take the shotgun-ammo and the large medi-pack
from the skeleton and move the stone block in front of the exit.
Slide down the ramp and step into the water. This
area is filled with traps (sharp blades are shot across the room). Walk to
the left wall, jump and grab the crevice above. Hang and traverse all the
way to the right. Drop into the water and swim underwater to the corner
near the door.
Surface and pull up to the right side.
SAVE YOUR GAME. Next few areas are very fast to take.
So start running as broken floor tiles break under you. Run over them and
take a right as you enter the next room. Don’t look behind you, rolling
boulders are coming now, keep running. Leap over the spikes and land on a
slide, which will bring you in a room with spiked wall coming towards you.
If your fast you can pickup the automatic-pistol clips on the floor. Climb
up into the opening. Rest here for a moment, and again save your game.
Now, run down the next hallway, over the collapsing
floor with spikes below, leaping over the three slicing blades. At the end
of the hall, cut to the left. If
you can manage pick up SECRET#2, the
Jade Dragon before the spiked
walls close in on you. Continue running down the next long hallway,
keeping to the right to avoid more spiked walls moving in from the left.
Slide down into the next room. Roll when you land to face the opposite
direction from the spiked wall coming at you. Then run onto the collapsing
floor and fall to safety in a new room.
Ahead you’ll see two huge rolling blades running
across the room. In front of them is a skeleton with a small medi-pack,
which you can pickup safely (look out for the blade!). Now run carefully
past the blades and enter in a cave above a huge cavern. Kill the 2
spiders near the entrance on your right and 3 more will come to you if you
approach the zip line. Kill them now so they won’t be a problem later.
Don’t take the zipline yet, instead stand at the
edge of the huge cavern near the line and look down. You’ll see a flat,
square ledge on your right. Turn around and jump backwards grabbing the
ledge. Now drop safely on the the next ledge. Pull up to grab the crevace
in front of you and traverse to the right until you can pull up into the
small cave. Follow the path, pickup the Flares, until you reach a shaft
with a ladder. Climb onto the small ladder and climb downwards into the
dark. At the bottom light a flare as you can’t see much. Enter the
cavern until the two skeletons. Now the fun begins as a T-REX comes
towards you. Use the tunnel opening you came from for cover and shooting.
When the T-Rex is dead you can safely cross the cavern and pickup
SECRET#
3; the Gold Dragon.
Now a
second T-Rex is coming running at you. Start running towards the tunnel
which you entered this cavern and shoot the T-Rex. Climb up the ladder to
the top and you’ll come out
near the zip line. Kill the
spider and grab the zip line, hold on as you slide down the opposite side
of the cavern. Try to let go before the end of the ride onto the green
area. Two tigers charge from the doorway towards you. Kill them and enter
the the doorway. You'll emerge near a big wooden door. Approach the door
to finish the level.
